Hi, my name is André Johnson, I am a freelance photographer & digital content creator currently residing out of Deerfield Beach, Florida. Being raised in Florida, I have been exposed to water and the ocean for most of my life, which has developed into a passion that extends beyond the waves. Traveling to places as far as Belize and almost everywhere in between, I’ve spent most of my time developing my skills in the Bahamas and South Florida where I currently reside. Having a formal education, graduating with a B.A. in Multimedia Studies from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) I have formal educational training which has translated to multiple skillsets useful for a wide range of projects or assignments in a professional environment.

With a diverse digital skillset, I offer a wide range of services such as website management, commercial photography (portraits, real estate, product, event, etc.), social media management, design, and much more…

I first got into the professional diving industry very early in life, as soon as I came of age, I obtained my Divemaster and Assistant Instructor certifications while working in the Bahamas on my long breaks in between semesters while still in school. Eventually, I landed at Pompano Dive Center in Pompano Beach, Florida working as a divemaster and in-water guide, ending up as a dual agency scuba instructor Scuba Schools International (SSI), and Scuba Diving International (SDI).

Exposed to photography at a very young age by my father, I’ve always been around cameras. Naturally becoming more interested over time, I obtained my first camera at age 14, a compact camera called the Canon G-12. After getting comfortable with shooting with a compact camera, I was eager to upgrade to a larger system. After winning a scholarship art competition my junior year of high school I purchased a new setup from my mentor Chris Guglielmo. The new setup consisted of a Nikon D7000, Aquatica housing, Tokina 10-17 fisheye lens, 60mm macro lens and dual ikelite DS 161 strobes. Following many years developing my skills with this setup, I recently upgraded to a Nikon D850 and Nauticam housing. My style of photography is one that aims at educating through beauty and fascination, and I hope to continue in trying to incorporate more writing into my work in the future.
