While snorkeling in the shallow waters off a private beach in the Bahamas, I happened onto a small shallow coral reef and around the surrounding hard bottom of the coral reef were sun anemones. Sun anemones also called the Caribbean carpet anemone, make their homes in shallow warm tropical waters where they can get plenty of sunlight and nutrients. Often times these anemones will host various species of crab and shrimp in a symbiotic relationship. Most often times in sun anemones I will find sun anemone shrimp and porcelain crab, which both make for good subjects to focus on nestled in the safety of the tentacles of the anemone.
